Deutsche Telekom wins in Europe with its one-stop packages

  • Three million Deutsche Telekom customers have already signed up for integrated services
  • Germany is the leading market, with more than two million MagentaEINS packages

Fixed and mobile networks are becoming one. A mere 15 months after the launch of MagentaEINS, more than two million customers in Germany had already signed up for the packages, which offer smart combinations of the two types of communication. This means customers can get everything from a single source: telephone services, Internet and TV, all with the benefits offered by a package deal. Every MagentaEINS rate plan includes an all-net flat rate for at home and on the move, including a flat rate for text messaging. A number of innovations followed, such as MagentaEINS for business customers, as well as the worry-free flat rate for other EU countries. Since MagentaEINS celebrated its first birthday in September 2015, all mobile customers have been receiving even higher speed and data volume, at no extra charge. Telekom is also targeting families in particular with new extras. "The concept is working: attractive offers for all those who opt for individual combinations of communication, Internet and TV highlights, providing them with numerous benefits as fixed-line and mobile communications customers," summarizes Niek Jan van Damme, Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG and Managing Director of Telekom Deutschland GmbH. "We launched the first integrated portfolio on the market. This means that we responded early to the customer demand for obtaining all services from a one-stop shop, with the benefits this brings. The benefit for Telekom is that MagentaEINS customers are more loyal and are particularly likely to recommend us."

Europe-wide concept with local features
In 2015, Deutsche Telekom subsidiaries in other countries followed the concept of the bundled portfolio that was originally launched in Germany. Around one million customers have been won over to the service to date. This means there are now three million customers throughout Europe who signed up for integrated services. The Magenta portfolio is marketed in Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Macedonia with the same symbols and magenta color scheme as in Germany. The additional elements of the portfolio vary locally, such as attractive family and entertainment packages, or a Deutsche Telekom tablet with exclusive services, as is the case in Slovakia. The Group's latest portfolio bundle was launched in November as COSMOTE One in Greece. The packages offered there also include an option for business customers, like in Macedonia and Romania. Alongside the comprehensive solution for fixed-line and mobile communications from a single source, these packages also include personalized customer service and particularly generous cloud storage.

"The key to our success in Europe is simple: an international marketing concept with local characteristics, which means that we have adapted it to suit the market requirements in each country," says Claudia Nemat, Deutsche Telekom Board Member for Europe and Technology. "This gives us a major kick-start on our way to becoming Europe's leading telecommunications company."
