Jürgen Kindervater to head new Sports Marketing, Content and Brand Management unit

Press Department to be headed in future by Ulrich Lissek Jürgen Kindervater (57), Senior Executive Vice President, Group Communications, at Deutsche Telekom is to take over the new Sports Marketing, Content and Brand Management unit with immediate effect, at his own request and in agreement with the Chairman of the Board of Management. Head of communications since 1990, Mr. Kindervater's responsibilities included the establishment of the Deutsche Telekom Group's entire branding strategy and corporate design and the positioning of the company as one of the most successful sponsors (including the Team Telekom, the commitment to the German Football Association and most recently Bayern München). Mr. Kindervater also had overall responsibility for the complete communications strategy of the initial public offerings of Deutsche Telekom and T-Online. In his new role, Mr. Kindervater will take over responsibility at Group level for sports marketing (sponsoring and events), brand management and content and will report to the Heads of the Board of Management departments T-Com/T-Systems, Josef Brauner, and T-Mobile/T-Online, Kai-Uwe Ricke.

The press department will be headed by Ulrich Lissek (44), who will report directly to the Chairman of the Board of Management. Mr. Lissek joined Deutsche Telekom's communications department in 1993 from the daily newspaper "Die Welt" and has been a member of the management of the Press and Communication Center since 2000.
