De-Mail : kick-off for Deutsche Telekom's digital letter- Standardized cloud services at a fixed rate for corporate customers
Cloud services for corporate groups, SMBs and consumer customers are a key element of Deutsche Telekom's future strategy. The company is expecting demand to increase significantly across all customer groups. "We intend to offer impressive and secure cloud solutions for all," CEO René Obermann said on Monday. "Now that the trend toward everything going mobile is here to stay, services and applications are now being migrated to the cloud." The advantage for customers is that Deutsche Telekom has all the expertise needed to offer cloud services from a single source: bandwidth, storage capacity, computing power, applications, operating system independence and high security. The multi-year expertise Deutsche Telekom has gained in the cloud with its corporate customers is now made available to SMBs. As of mid-year, small and medium-sized businesses will benefit from the Business Marketplace: this platform from Deutsche Telekom is a partner eco-system and service portal at the same time - easy to use and attractively priced without the need to invest in additional IT resources. On the platform, Deutsche Telekom has organized various solutions by sector and added an all-in service offer, making it easy for SMBs to find precisely the services they require. Starting in the summer, these offers will be also available online for international customers. For the first time, Deutsche Telekom is offering its corporate customers standardized cloud solutions at a fixed rate. Consumer customers benefit from the Media Center, where they organize their photos, videos and e-mails in the cloud. Additionally, Deutsche Telekom will launch
Three early-launch partnerships have already been signed for the Business Marketplace:
- In Germany, iMeet by Atlanta-based firm PGI is exclusively marketed by Deutsche Telekom and offers customers an online meeting room - without additional software, simply using the browser on their computer or their smartphone or tablet. A few clicks are all it takes to launch conference calls or videoconferences with up to 15 persons. At the same time, employees can work together on shared and secured documents.
- Scopevisio is a CRM/ERP-application that helps companies with their customer management and financial accounting, and includes all required functions for business accounts. The solution helps marketing and sales with tasks ranging from offer preparation to invoice creation.
- Clearpath Cloud Security takes care of security and offers protection from attacks from the Net, from viruses and undesirable content. Connections to the net are automatically filtered for malicious and critical content in the cloud. This protection is also effective for branch offices, staff in the field and includes mobile devices. No on-site hardware and no complex IT configurations and skills are needed anymore.
More services are continually being added to the Business Marketplace as part of a special partner and application-scouting program launched by Deutsche Telekom: the "Easy-to-Partner-program". The objective is to find and enable appropriate software solutions from various providers for use in the Deutsche Telekom platform. This can now be achieved within weeks and with on-boarding support from Telekom cloud specialists. Telekom is supporting the open cloud platform architecture OpenstackTM in order to ease the technical and on-boarding process of partners. Application upgrades and innovations are automatically incorporated within the Business Marketplace architecture. This enables SMBs to concentrate on their core business tasks, and easily being able to order IT to suit their individual needs whilst and only paying for services they actually use. Sandra O'Boyle, Service Director, Business Network and IT Services from Current Analysis commented on the new offer: "With its Business Marketplace, Deutsche Telekom brings leading and innovative software providers and SMBs together on a secure platform. Deutsche Telekom has understood that this customer group is now ready for cloud services but that it needs a strong partner and an easy-to-handle solution that is geared to their requirements." A closed pilot phase is due to start immediately. The Business Marketplace will be available as an online offer in German and English to international customers as of this summer. The range of services and applications will be continually extended over the coming years. Start of
