Deutsche Telekom today announced plans to develop and promote tools that will help make it intuitive for developers using Microsoft Visual Studio to mash up Deutsche Telekom's world-class network services with applications built for Microsoft Corp.'s device and cloud technology platforms. This collaboration will allow Microsoft's global community of millions of software developers to create powerful interactive applications that run on the PC, Slate, TV, and mobile devices that embed features from Deutsche Telekom's Developer Garden platform www.developergarden.com like Call Control, SMS, Conference Call, Scout24 Classifieds APIs and Billing. The collaboration with Microsoft will promote the ability to quickly develop innovative applications that expose Deutsche Telekom's network features to the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) community world-wide. Microsoft and Deutsche Telekom will evangelize Deutsche Telekom's APIs to the MSDN community through joint articles, activities and events. Deutsche Telekom, with a customer base of 129 million mobile users, 34 million fixed-network lines and approximately 17 million broadband lines will distribute the .NET software development kit (SDK) on its Developer Garden portal, educate its community, and utilize Microsoft platforms and devices for applications developed by Deutsche Telekom businesses. "This cooperation between Deutsche Telekom and Microsoft addresses the mega-trend web-mobile convergence that combines the services available over the web, like billing, identity, and targeted advertising, with communications services such as SMS and Call Control.
