Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 soon available from T-Mobile

  • New multimedia phone with Android operating system
  • Smart user interface for fast access to contacts and media
  • Huge touch screen, 8 megapixel camera, HSPA and GPS integrated

Fast and easy access to your personal contacts and media content, the Internet, e-mail and much more, anytime you want it: T-Mobile adds another Android-based mobile phone to its lineup, the innovative Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10. One standout feature is the newly developed user interface, which intelligently links communications and media content in its display. The Android operating system (version 1.6) also allows the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 to access Google services like Google Search, Maps, Calendar and Gmail directly. The wide range of Android Market™ applications lets users expand the phone's functional scope and entertainment value in almost any way they want. Add to this a gigantic touch screen and high-resolution camera for photos and videos. T-Mobile will begin offering the new phone on an exclusive basis in April 2010.

The "Timescape" and "Mediascape" functions represent the key components of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10's intuitive user interface. Timescape brings together all communication with one contact in one place and arranges the content in chronological order. Be it SMS texts, e-mail or Facebook updates, users can view and process everything in one go. Mediascape presents local and web-based media content combined in one user interface, automatically locating saved photos, videos or songs of a particular artist and suggesting Web pages that match.

Another highlight of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is the TFT touch screen with a screen size of over 10 centimeters and a scratch-proof mineral glass coating. This huge display is ideally suited for images taken with the integrated 8.1-megapixel autofocus camera, which records videos in WVGA quality (480 x 854 pixels). In addition to the high resolution, the photo/video stabilizer and lighting add quality to the image. Sophisticated: the smart face recognition software recalls up to five faces and links their pictures automatically to the telephone directory and their messaging activities. To allow users to surf the Web and read or send e-mail at top speed, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 supports HSPA and WLAN technology. A GPS receiver is built in for geolocation and navigation. A 1-GHz processor supports all applications with exceptionally high computing output.
