Speedport W 921V: New router for broadband internet, Entertain and Voice-over IP in top quality

  • WLAN router with integrated modem for ADSL/VDSL and telephone
  • Cordless telephone in top audio quality with DECT CAT-iq 2.0
  • A range of connection options for different end devices

Be perfectly connected at home with this new communications center: the new Speedport W 921V links end devices ranging from telephones to media receivers with the broadband line provided by Deutsche Telekom. Additionally, it also functions as an ADSL and VDSL modem, a WLAN/LAN router and a telephone system for internet or fixed-line telephony. Speedport W 921V supports both Voice-over IP and DECT-standard CAT-iq 2.0. It is thus ideal for internet telephony in excellent voice and sound quality and therefore recommended for the purely IP-based Deutsche Telekom line. Speedport W 921V, of course, can be used without restrictions with the universal and standard line. With Speedport W 921V, users can surf, make calls and enjoy Entertain, Deutsche Telekom's TV service, all at the same time. The unit ensures that the transmission power required in each case is available for all applications. Despite its wide range of functions, Speedport W 921V is easy to use: It configures internet access and internet telephony automatically on Deutsche Telekom ADSL and VDSL lines. Likewise, the firmware is updated regularly without any further effort on the part of the user. Moreover, Speedport W 921V supports the vendor-independent standards DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) and UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) for the transmission of music, image and video data. In this way, devices such as appropriately equipped television sets and stereo systems can be integrated into the network and used easily there. The new Speedport also offers NAS (Network-Attached Storage) functions required for the synchronization, exchange and backup of data in home networks. Up to 32 PCs and notebooks with bandwidths of up to 300 Mbit/s can be connected to the Speedport via WLAN. To facilitate PC connection via cable as well, Speedport W 921V is equipped with four gigabit LAN ports. Users can connect printers, external hard drives or other devices to the Speedport via two USB 2.0 ports. In addition to this, the Speedport also offers numerous security features for Internet access and for the WLAN applications. These include a built-in firewall and encryption using the WEP, WPA or WPA2 standard. Speedport W 921V is available from September 2011 at a retail price of EUR 199.99, or EUR 3.95 per month (in the first year) as part of the Deutsche Telekom terminal equipment service package, in Telekom Shops, from Deutsche Telekom's specialist partners, or from the online store at www.telekom.de.
