Valora awards major ICT order to T-Systems

  • Operating and modernizing the ICT infrastructure
  • Centralizing the European data centres
  • Base platform for Valora growth strategy
  • Eight year contract term

The trading company Valora has instructed T-Systems in Switzerland to operate its data centres and ICT infrastructure. The aim is to implement a uniform solution transnationally together with T-Systems , sustainably reduce costs and provide a dynamic infrastructure platform to support the growth strategy. The contract will run for eight years. "With the expert knowledge and innovation of T-Systems we are focusing on a clear increase in the efficiency of our planning and control, and flexible support for our growth activities. At the same time we are anticipating savings and transparency in our ICT costs", says Markus Guggenbühler , CIO at Valora. "I am delighted that in T-Systems we have found a strong partner whose innovative technologies will help us achieve our corporate objectives". With the outsourcing contract with T-Systems the entire Information and Communication Technology (ICT) including all servers, networks, end user devices and the Helpdesk will be modernized. In addition, the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary will be centralizing the infrastructure of all of Valora's data centres, which include sites in Austria, Germany, Luxemburg and Scandinavia. During the course of this, 16 employees will move over to T-Systems . "With this major order from Valora we are further expanding our business in Switzerland and also highlighting our international growth curve", says Reinhard Clemens , member of the Deutsche Telekom Board of Management and T-Systems CEO.
