M2M service portal: Easy-to-operate real-time control for mobile machine communication

  • Telekom is providing business customers with a new portal for monitoring and administering a variety of M2M activities
  • Customers can activate, lock, or deactivate their M2M SIM cards, change data plan features and use alarm functions
  • Portal functions can easily be integrated into corporate customers' existing IT infrastructures

Telekom is optimizing its M2M (Machine to Machine) offering for mobile integration of machines, devices, and meters: With the new M2M service portal, all corporate M2M cards with the corresponding data plans and transmission volumes are always visible at a glance. Users can activate, lock, or deactivate their M2M SIM cards and change data plan features. To control data transmission, they can define custom alarm thresholds for every card triggering automatic notifications. The portal is accessible via a secure Internet connection. The portal functions can easily be integrated into the corporate customer's existing IT environment via an API (Application Programming Interface) and then used automatically. By providing this M2M service portal, Deutsche Telekom reinforces its long-term commitment to the M2M growth market: more and more industries and enterprises leverage mobile integration of objects of any kind with company headquarters, allowing them to read consumption data in real time, or to remote-control machines and monitor their operation. Essential M2M market segments include the automotive, energy, healthcare, and transport & logistics industries. For more information about the M2M service portal and the M2M offerings, please see www.telekom.de/m2m. The portal can be used starting from just 50 M2M SIM cards.
