Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)
Manuela Mackert has been Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Group Compliance Management at Deutsche Telekom AG since July 2010.
She is also active on committees in Germany and internationally with the aim of cultivating standards for good corporate governance and establishing these in business practice.
Manuela is working intensively on compliance-relevant topics such as value culture and ethical leadership as well as digital transformation and security in companies. She was one of the first managers within Europe’s largest corporations to conduct an international survey regarding transparency of corporate culture and to implement measures such as Top-Management trainings that deal with ethical dilemma situations in Telekom units. Moreover, one of her latest initiatives is to promote digital ethics within Europe to be prepared for the emerging challenges of digitization. Accordingly, she was significantly involved in developing Deutsche Telekom’s guidelines for dealing with artificial intelligence. Manuela Mackert is part of the work group “AI, labor and the economy” at the consortium Partnership on AI and member of the AI task force at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS). Moreover, she is member of Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA) of the Ethisphere Institute.

As member of the Supervisory Board at T-Systems GmbH, Manuela Mackert has close contact with Deutsche Telekom AG's corporate customer business. Furthermore, she was a member of the Audit Committee of T-Mobile US until T-Mobile US and MetroPCS merged. Before taking on the role of Chief Compliance Officer, the lawyer held a variety of management positions at Deutsche Telekom AG and other international companies, such as the Lufthansa Group. Within her HR functions, her achievements include establishing Deutsche Telekom AG's global employee relations management, coordinating collective agreement and co-determination policies, and executing numerous mergers & acquisitions, outsourcing deals and restructuring programs.
