Ferri Abolhassan, born in 1964 and a German national, has been a member of Deutsche Telekom AG’s Board of Management since January 1, 2024. He is responsible for the Group’s large-enterprise business and serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of T-Systems.
Ferri Abolhassan brings more than 30 years of experience in IT. He earned a doctorate in computer science from Saarland University. He began his career as a student trainee at Siemens in Munich before moving to IBM in San Jose, USA. Starting in 1992, he held various management roles at SAP. After four years in IDS Scheer’s corporate management, he returned to SAP in 2005, most recently serving as Executive Vice President Large Enterprise EMEA.
In 2008, Abolhassan joined T-Systems as a member of the Executive Management team and took charge of the Systems Integration business unit. Starting in 2010, he led the Production unit, before assuming responsibility for all Delivery in 2013. From 2015 onward, he headed the IT division, which had approximately 30,000 employees. From December 2015 through November 2016, he was also responsible for the establishment of the Telekom Security business unit.
In October 2016, Abolhassan joined Telekom Deutschland as a Managing Director and led the Service business unit. In May 2021, he also took on responsibility for Sales. He led the newly formed Sales & Service business unit, with all sales and service channels and 30,000 employees, until his return to T-Systems.
Ferri Abolhassan is a member of the Supervisory Board of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), a senator of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), and a member of the Max Planck Society, the Board of Trustees of the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, the Bitkom Executive Board, and Atlantik-Brücke. He is also a member of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs’ Expert Commission "Wettbewerb & Künstliche Intelligenz," the Saarland Digitalization Council, and an official Saarland Ambassador.
