External auditors have examined Deutsche Telekom's compliance management and antitrust system and confirmed that the Group is well positioned against corruption and antitrust violations.
Deutsche Telekom lets regularly review its Compliance Management system externally. This enables us to ensure that we systematically counteract risks and have established effective processes. Therefore Deutsche Telekom has been audited under the Auditing Standard IDW PS 980, with a focus on prevention of corruption and antitrust violations.
Moreover, DT is one of the first companies worldwide, who has already successfully gone through the ISO Standard 37001 certification. This standard for the audit of Anti-Bribery-Management Systems was published in 2016.
Examination focused on Anti-Corruption
In 2016, we reviewed Deutsche Telekom and nine subsidiaries in Germany in terms of risk. The auditors confirmed that the processes of the central compliance organization and individual units are effective. Moreover, in 2017 12 international units of Deutsche Telekom were audited. The auditors reviewed processes within procurement, sales, human resources and M&A department and here the topics events, donation & sponsoring.
Auditors have already confirmed in 2010 and 2013 that in accordance with IDW PS980 the compliance organization of the Deutsche is well positioned to contain the controllable corruption risk in the Company.

Examination focused on Antitrust
The Antitrust System of Deutsche Telekom was examined as well by an independent auditing institution in the period from January 2013 to December 2013 according to the standard IDW PS 980. The audit report – published in 2014 – certifies that Deutsche Telekom has an effective compliance management system to avoid antitrust violations and to recognize them in time. As part of this certification Deutsche Telekom AG, Telekom Deutschland GmbH and T-Systems International GmbH as well as ten further international companies of the Deutsche Telekom were examined.

ISO 37001 Certification
The new ISO Standard 37001 regarding Anti-Bribery-Management-Systems was published in October 2016. Deutsche Telekom is one of the first companies to have been certified successfully in 2017. For details see the Certificate ISO 37001 2016 (pdf, 128.5 KB).
