External auditors have examined Deutsche Telekom's compliance management and antitrust system and confirmed that the Group is well positioned against corruption and antitrust violations.
Deutsche Telekom’s Compliance Management System is audited externally on a regular basis. This enables us to ensure that we systematically counteract risks and have established effective processes.
Therefore, Deutsche Telekom has been audited regularly according to the Assurance Standard 980 of the Institute of Public Auditors in Germany (IDW PS 980), with a focus on prevention of corruption and antitrust violations.
Moreover, Deutsche Telekom AG is one of the first companies worldwide, who has already successfully gone through an ISO Standard 37001 certification.
Assurance Standard 980, delineated area anti-corruption
In 2020, Deutsche Telekom AG and eight subsidiaries were audited by independent public auditors. As a result, the auditors confirmed the compliance management system to be appropriate and effective. Focus of the audit were processes of the compliance organization as well as processes of areas exposed to a potential risk of corruption (e. g. procurement, sales, events, sponsoring, donations, human resources, mergers & acquisitions). Already in 2010, 2013 and 2016/2017 auditors confirmed that in accordance with assurance standard 980 the compliance organization of Deutsche Telekom AG and selected national and international subsidiaries is well positioned to contain corruption risks in the Company.
Certification according to ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management Systems)
The ISO Standard 37001 regarding Anti-Bribery-Management-Systems was published in October 2016. Deutsche Telekom AG is one of the first companies world-wide to have been successfully certified in 2017.
Assurance Standard 980, delineated area antitrust
The Antitrust System of Deutsche Telekom was audited by an independent auditing company in 2013 according to assurance standard 980. The audit report confirms that Deutsche Telekom has an effective compliance management system to avoid antitrust violations. Within the scope of this audit Deutsche Telekom AG as well as 12 national and international subsidiaries were examined.
