Pan-Net wins Leading Lights Award in Outstanding Transformation Strategy category

Deutsche Telekom Pan-Net, the newly established company leading DT’s flagship Pan-IP business transformation, has won this year’s Leading Lights award in the Outstanding Transformation Strategy category at a glamorous event in Austin, Texas. Deutsche Telekom was recognized by Light Reading, the organizers of the Leading Lights Awards, for setting up a completely new way of telco production across its European footprint, representing "one of the most ambitious network projects ever undertaken by a European incumbent."

"We are extremely pleased to have won the Leading Lights Outstanding Transformation Strategy award. With our Pan-Net approach, we are truly revolutionizing the production logic and will be able to prove that synergies in the telecommunications industry can go far beyond procurement. It is great to know that our hard work and achievements to date are being recognized even beyond European borders," says Sven Hischke, Managing Director, Deutsche Telekom Pan-Net.

Deutsche Telekom is the only operator in Europe already building a network architecture which will enable the use of a single standardized infrastructure across national boundaries. Called the 'infrastructure cloud,' it is created by moving the production logic from legacy hardware platforms into the virtual environment. The Deutsche Telekom Pan-Net company, established in May 2015 as a separate legal entity and headquartered in Bratislava, Slovakia, will steer and manage DT’s pan-European network. The company has the end-to-end responsibility to deliver the full Telco service portfolio for the European footprint.

The Leading Lights Awards, organized by online publication Light Reading and now in their 12th year, preceded the Big Communications Conference in Austin, during which Axel Clauberg, Vice President Aggregation, Transport, IP at Deutsche Telekom further discusses the Pan-Net vision in the opening keynote.
