Deutsche Telekom is a global player which employs people in around 50 countries. A central challenge that we face is the promotion of international collaboration across geographical and cultural boundaries.

Woman against railing

An international diversity network was set up to enable participants in different countries to exchange their experiences. Diversity officers use a virtual platform to exchange their thoughts on measures and approaches in the individual countries.

To promote intercultural diversity, Deutsche Telekom is committed to participation in the corporate Diversity Charter initiative. With around 1,000 members, the Diversity Charter is one of the biggest corporate initiatives in Germany, and Deutsche Telekom is one of the four founding members. To emphasize its commitment, the company has joined the charter's sponsors' committee. There, and on the committee's board, we will drive the ongoing development of the Diversity Charter in future.

Furthermore, Deutsche Telekom also participates in national projects, including "Africa is coming." Leading German businesses support a joint continuing education initiative for experts and executives from African countries south of the Sahara.

To support intercultural exchange, an International Round Table has been established. International employees working in Germany meet here on a regular basis to further internationalize the working culture.

Further measures and initiatives in the area of ethnic origin are:

  • Steady increase in the percentage of international employees participating in development programs
  • Telekom X-change program
  • "My opportunity - on my way to success!" program as the initial qualification for underprivileged young people
