Deutsche Telekom has given its SmartHome Shop at www.smarthome.de a full makeover. The redesigned shopping portal now makes it particularly easy to get started with smart home technology. New filters and shopping advisors help users find the right products. As such, the shop isn't just a good address for beginners; smart home enthusiasts will also find helpful tips and new ideas.
The new shop now features a range of more than 120 devices. Its offerings include brand-name manufacturers like Amazon, Google, Nest, and Sonos, as well as sensors, adapter plugs, and the security keypad from Centralite for the first time. These products were not previously available online in Europe. Thanks to the new search function, shopping is a breeze. It just takes a few clicks to get devices from eQ-3, BitronVideo, Philips, and many others sent directly to a customer's smart home.
Even more selection: devices for every budget
Deutsche Telekom has expanded its product range with devices from popular brands. Two LED lamps from the Magenta SmartHome DECT series have been added, as have two additional cameras and an adapter plug from D-LINK. The TRADFI lamps available from IKEA can also be integrated with Magenta SmartHome.
Inexpensive lights: convenience doesn't have to be expensive
Two new LED lamps with the widespread E27 plugs provide the right mood lighting. These new additions from the Magenta SmartHome DECT series let residents cut energy consumption by up to 80 percent. Both lamps use the DECT ULE wireless communication standard. They can also be controlled on the go, by an alarm system, or by the automated house guardian. Super smart: routers from Deutsche Telekom's Speedport Smart series connect to the lamps automatically, which means they can be operated without an additional control center.
The "SmartHome LED lamp E27 color" provides white light with color temperatures from 2,700 to 6,500 degrees Kelvin. It supports 16 million colors. The "warm white" version offers a constant light temperature of 2,700 degrees Kelvin. With light output of 806 lumen, these two dimmable LED lamps replace conventional 60W light bulbs. Both lamps consume an economical 9 Watts, giving them energy efficiency class A+. The color LED lamp is available for 29.99 euros; the "warm white" variant costs 19.99 euros. They are available at Telekom Shops, on www.smarthome.de, and from local retailers.
Just what IKEA fans have been waiting for: seven TRADFI lamps now connect to Deutsche Telekom's Magenta SmartHome. This integration is now available generally, following a successful test.
Security monitoring at a fair price
The DCS 2530L internal camera and DCS 2670L weatherproof external camera from D-Link make sure you don't miss a thing. With their wide-angle lenses, they can effortlessly record an entire room or garden. Their integrated night vision delivers high-resolution video and on-board WiFi means they can be placed anywhere. The DCS 2530L internal camera with 1080p full-HD sensor will cost 189.99 euros from Deutsche Telekom. The DCS 2670L external camera with 1080p full-HD resolution will be available soon for 219.99 euros.
The modern DSP W-115 adapter plug from D-LINK ensures economical energy consumption at a starter price. The plug costs 34.99 euros and lets users turn devices off and on remotely. If the plug is integrated with a connected smart home, device control can be automated. The plug can also be operated through voice commands with Amazon and Google devices. More than 250 devices are already compatible with the international Qivicon smart home platform and can be controlled through Magenta SmartHome.
