T-Systems pioneer in international use of Run SAP methodology

  • Next-generation application and hosting management
  • Launch and use SOA more easily
  • T-Systems at SAP's SAPPHIRE NOW customer events

T-Systems is one of the first information and communications technology (ICT) service providers to introduce 'Run SAP' worldwide. This methodology makes it possible to plan, design, operate and enhance SAP applications more efficiently. T-Systems will be using 'Run SAP' to operate its customers' SAP environments in the future. This will play a key part in increasing quality and, at the same time, reducing costs and risks throughout the entire lifecycle of SAP solutions. T-Systems has presented the Global Run SAP method at SAP's central customer events, SAPPHIRE, in Frankfurt (Messe), May 17 - 19 , and Orlando (Convention Center), United States , May 16 - 19 . 'Run SAP' is based on the central administration tool SAP Solution Manager as the platform for application management and administration of SAP environments. "'Run SAP' combines the knowledge, experience and best practices of thousands of installations. This includes functional, technical and organizational aspects," said Olaf Heyden, Member of the T-Systems Board of Management and Head of ICT Operations at T-System s. "Combining this with our Dynamic Services for SAP and application management services results in significant additional synergies for the operating processes between customer, SAP and T-Systems." 'Run SAP' is a tried-and-tested method that focuses on application management, execution of business processes and administration of SAP applications. It offers SAP best practices for procedures, content, services, training, and tools for the successful implementation of end-to-end solution operations. The 'Run SAP' method supports the entire product lifecycle from design through setup to workflows and optimization of the SAP solution implemented. The methodology also shows how end-to-end solution operations can be implemented for various workflows based on SAP software. "We are delighted that T-Systems wants to expand its long-standing business relationship with SAP by introducing the 'Run SAP' methodology," said Dr. Uwe Hommel, Executive Vice President of SAP AG. "This makes T-Systems one of the first SAP partners to introduce Run SAP's concept of end-to-end solution operations in its application management services and hosting offerings." While Run SAP certification has already been achieved in the implementation area, global certification in the operations area planned until the end of July 2010. Other topics T-Systems has presented at SAPPHIRE NOW include "SAP Harmonization and Consolidation" , "SAP CRM@Mobile Device" and "SAP Cloud@T-Systems" .
