Attention students! Career information meets augmented reality

Will flyers and posters soon be a thing of the past? Students can find out about career entry opportunities in new ways: Augmented reality objects are created in the Telekom Career App. Telekom developed the app together with two students from CODE University of Applied Science. It enables creative photos with AR objects and links students to internships, trainee programs and jobs at Telekom.

From T Challenge to Apple App Store: The app was developed by talented students from CODE University of Applied Science, who won a prize at T Challenge – a global competition and stage to award innovators to transform their ideas into real game-changers. The two students were supported by Magenta Campus Team to bring their idea to the Apple App Store.

The Magenta Campus team works across departments. HR colleagues as well as employees from different areas of the Group, such as T-Labs, network to promote the important topic of talent acquisition. To this end, they initiate collaborations with colleges and universities, for example.

To promote the app among students, big frames in magenta, the "Windows of Opportunity" - a tangible window to the virtual world - have been installed at TU Berlin and will soon be at other partner universities in Germany and Europe.

The AR app also focuses on gamification: you can take creative photos with AR objects and post them on social media. In the "Career Matcher" you can find the right job or learn about direct entry opportunities at Telekom. This works just as well on campus as it does at home. The plan is to continuously develop the app with working students to meet the needs of the target group.
