Duale master's degree

Dual master’s degree courses at Deutsche Telekom allow you to consolidate your theoretical knowledge through practical, on-the-job experience and acquire additional qualifications.

During the three-semester cooperative master’s degree course you will develop skills which you can use directly at our company, adding value to products and services. Your degree course focuses on practical integration, which will enable you to consolidate the knowledge you acquired in a practical setting where it can be instantly applied. Depending on your chosen core area, this degree course prepares you for working in the field of information and communication technology, in data management, in distributed software systems or in IT security and enables you to shape technological progress for the digital transformation by exploring modern and future fields of application.

Starting on April 1, your dual degree course will take 1.5 years. Your gross remuneration will be € 1,570 per month, plus additional social benefits. Your tuition fees will be paid by us. You will also be entitled to annual leave, which you can take at any time during your practical training.

For the duration of your course, we will give you a smartphone, laptop, and suitable internet access to use for your work at Deutsche Telekom. You will also receive personal assistance from a study coach, the university professors, and a contact in your workplace. Modern learning platforms will support your individual learning development.

The content of the degree course is strongly geared toward the technical/technological side of the professional field of an information and communications engineer. The course aims to clarify the underlying principles and technologies of current ICT and enables you to use modern technologies and explore future fields of application. 

The mandatory and mandatory elective modules of your course include the following:

  • IT-based Business Processes
  • Network and Systems Management
  • Big Data Management
  • Optical Transmission Systems, Applied Photonics and Wireless Communication
  • Mobile Computing
  • Software Management 
  • Security Patterns
  • IT-Architecture-Management
  • Complex Systems 

To apply for this course, you should, ideally, (soon) have a bachelor’s degree with 210 ECTS credits in the fields of Information and Communication Technology, Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering or in an affine course in another technically oriented field with a strong reference to Information and Communication Technology.

An affine course includes the following specialist knowledge to the extent of at least 50 ECTS credits:

  • Principles of Computer Sciences or Information Technology
  • Principles of Systems and Coding Theory 
  • Principles of High Frequency Technology 
  • Knowledge of Network Infrastructure and Protocols 
  • Software Development 

We also allow access when you can verify at least 180 ECTS in your first professionally qualified university degree as well as all required competences, which may anticipate a successfully completed study.

Naturally, you must meet the relevant admission criteria and participate in the admission process at our Cooperative University of Applied Sciences.
