Approximately one third of all emissions produced by human activity are attributable to agriculture

Agricultural emissions are so significant that approximately one third of all greenhouse gases produced by human activity are attributable to agriculture. Livestock emissions alone exceed emissions from the entire global transportation industry. Global food production is set to grow by 70 percent by 2050. If agriculture was made more efficient, the magnitude of emissions reduction would be significant and information and communication technology (ICT) can support this very effectively.
