Several awards for Telekom CR activities

Deutsche Telekom once again made progress as a company acting responsibly in the past year. The Group received the German Sustainability Award for its holistic sustainability management. Crucial for the decision of the jury were Services such as cloud computing that enable customers to save energy and resources and reduce their carbon footprint. Telekom was also honored in 2017 by CDP (formerly the "Carbon Disclosure Project"), which collects and analyzes CO2 emissions data every year. As one of only 112 companies worldwide, Telekom landed on the A-list, which recognizes particularly transparent and comprehensive reporting companies.

The report provides detailed information about the activities that led to these awards. For example, in the framework of the World Climate Summit in Bonn, the event "The Impact of ICT on Climate Change - Curse or Blessing" occurred. It offered the opportunity for dialogue with various stakeholders in order to highlight the underestimated opportunities of digitization for climate protection.

Innovative products reduce CO2 emission

In 2017, Telekom again presented new products and solutions for a networked and thus sustainably designed life and work. For example, the free app "PARK AND JOY" ensures that car drivers can find a parking space more quickly, so traffic flows better and less CO2 emissions reach the atmosphere. In Hamburg, there are already 100 parking spaces equipped with sensors, by the end of 2019 it should be up to 11,000 units. For 2018, other cities such as Bonn, Duisburg and Dortmund are planning to launch the app.

The CR Report 2017 looks back on all these and many other topics. In addition to the report itself, the interactive online platform http://www.cr-bericht.telekom.com offers visitors the opportunity to engage in dialogue with experts in addition to the information about Telekom's environmental and social commitment. Moreover, the homepage will keep you informed about the most important current activities and developments in the future.
