For our new series “Telekom at Night”, we literally shed light onto the dark: What exactly happens at Deutsche Telekom, while most people are asleep? For also in the nighttime, Deutsche Telekom does not stand still, and many of our colleagues are working. In the next couple of months, we will accompany some of them, whether in service, technology or other jobs.
The first episode of Telekom at Night takes place in the Lower Austrian city St. Pölten. Here we accompany the network modernization of T-Mobile Austria, which also takes place in Germany at the same time: The old 3G technology will be swapped against new 3G technology by Huawei. The aim is a so-called Single Radio Network, short Single RAN. In the future, there will be only one hardware unit at the radio stations which can process all three mobile standards
