Osman Demirel (25) started a cooperative study program in business information systems at Telekom straight out of school and is now placed with T-Systems as part of the Start up! program. During his degree he worked in corporate customer sales and spent time in Australia and France.
As a Start up! employee at T-Systems he has the chance to choose his project assignments freely. One of the most exciting was with the CEO of T-Systems. His international project took him to Silicon Valley with Detecon, to work on innovation projects there. He is currently staff manager for the Senior Vice President Sales Germany and is responsible for a wide variety of sales projects.
Mr Demirel, what has been your highlight at Telekom?
Osman Demirel: Luckily, there have been several. I got valuable experience with the Learning Company, a four-day seminar as part of the Start up! program, where we worked on four typical projects for the company in a live-case scenario. For the 30 Start up! colleagues this was an intense and profitable learning experience, at the end of which we presented our results to the heads of the relevant departments.
What does Telekom stand for as an employer in your opinion?
Osman Demirel: For me, Telekom is a diverse, exciting, fair and respectful employer.
After work - how do you spend your free time?
Osman Demirel: I spend time with the most important people in my life. These are my family, friends and happily also many colleagues. Apart from that, I try to keep fit by swimming or cycling.
What reason would you like to give our website visitors for why they should apply to Telekom?
Osman Demirel: There are many reasons, but here's one: Development opportunities within the Group are crucial for graduates and young professionals. And thanks to the broad scope of Telekom, there are no limits in this respect. One of our five Guiding Principles is: "Best place to perform and grow." Telekom really takes this into account and the efforts pay off.
