Birgit Bohle

Birgit Bohle, born in 1973, a German national, took up the post of Chief Human Resources Officer and Labor Director of Deutsche Telekom AG effective January 1, 2019. Since January 1, 2020, she has also been responsible for the Legal department within the Board of Management.

From 2007 through the end of 2018, Birgit Bohle held various management positions at Deutsche Bahn AG. From August 2015 to October 2018, she served as Chair of the Board of Management of DB Fernverkehr AG. During this period, the company gained more than 15 million new passengers and significantly improved its financial performance. From 2010 to 2015, she was a Managing Director at DB Vertrieb GmbH. Under her leadership, online and mobile ticket sales expanded significantly, and the „DB Navigator“ became one of Germany's most downloaded apps. She began her career at Deutsche Bahn in 2007 as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at DB Vertrieb.

Bohle began her professional career at BASF in 1992 with an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. She subsequently studied business administration at the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Koblenz and at ESC Nice. At the same time, she earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Her areas of focus were marketing, controlling, and finance. After completing her studies, she initially worked at Bertelsmann AG before joining management consulting firm McKinsey in Frankfurt am Main in 2000. She worked for a wide range of clients and most recently served as an Associate Principal and member of the European Transport & Logistics leadership team.
