We expect the importance of the metaverse to increase over the next few years. Therefore, it is now time to think about how we can design these virtual worlds in an ethically responsible way. This is because the same values and rules must apply in the metaverse as in the real world.
Deutsche Telekom is an infrastructure supplier for the metaverse. For us, the technology is neutral, but its impact is not.
Our goal: A trustworthy metaverse for everyone. As a continuation of our ethical guidelines for artificial intelligence from 2018, we now want to be a thought leader in the ethical design of new technologies and have developed the white paper on "Digital Ethics in the Metaverse" with numerous internal and external experts.
